AN ambitious project to transform Ipsley Pool for the use of the whole community has got underway.
The pool, which has been taken over by Redditch Junior Anglers, is currently overgrown and not fit for purpose.
However, thanks to the hard work of members from the club, as well as kind-hearted staff from Redditch firm Alcoa Fastening Systems, it is on its way to being transformed.
A recent clean up day saw people clear some of the overgrown area making space for the youngsters to sit so they can practice fishing.
Andrew Pendleton, who helps run the angling club, said: "It was a good day, we got a lot achieved.
"However, there is still much to do. We estimate this project will take 12 to 18 months with the final goal a fully stocked pool that can be used by the club and enjoyed by anyone from the community."
He added that any help from community groups, individuals or businesses would be much appreciated.
Redditch Junior Anglers is a fishing club aimed at children aged six to 16-years-old.
The aim is to encourage young anglers into the sport and teach them good fishing practices and water safety.
