A NEW weekly group to support breastfeeding mums and mums-to-be has been set up in Redditch.
Redditch Breastfeeding Mummies will run weekly at Willow Trees Community Centre on a Friday morning.
The group, organised by the NCT in conjunction with Redditch Early Help, will offer local mums support and encouragement during the hard times by mums who have been there and know what the highs and lows of breastfeeding are.
The group particularly welcomes all mums-to-be looking for information about the early days of breastfeeding.
Ali Wakeman, Early Help Volunteering co-ordinator said: “We are very proud of our newly trained peer support volunteers, they have dedicated their own time to get professional training in order to give support to others.
"The time spent breastfeeding is rewarding on many levels, strengthening bonds and providing a healthy start to both mother and baby alike."
She added: "This group provides a relaxed place to go and is a great way to socialise and make new friends."
The sessions will run from 10 to 11.30am term time only.
