BRITISH Transport Police (BTP) officers have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to after an altercation at Redditch Train Station last autumn.
The incident occurred after a man attempted to steal a passenger's mobile phone on a 6.57pm Redditch to Lichfield service on Friday, October 31.
Sergeant Alun Jones said: "Before the train left the station, a woman was informed by another passenger that a man had just stolen her phone from her trouser pocket.
"She alerted the train guard, and both followed the man off the train, confronting him in the booking hall at Redditch station.
"An altercation took place, and both the woman and the guard were verbally abused. The man also pushed the guard, before handing the phone back."
Officers have been reviewing CCTV footage, leading to the release of an image of a man they would like to speak to.
Sgt Alun Jones added: "Who is the man in the CCTV images? I want to speak to him about what happened that evening. If you recognise him, or have any other information that could help, please get in touch."
