SAINSBURY’S Redditch has presented Redditch Rugby Football Club’s junior section with a donation for £300 to support the cost of new kit for the under 9s side.

The Sainsbury’s Community Budget scheme, helping charitable groups in the local community, is funded by sales of Bags for Life. So for customers at Sainsbury’s Redditch buying a Bag for Life, this means that they are not only doing great things for the environment, but are also making a contribution to their local community.

Sainsbury’s Redditch store manager, Tim Smedley, said: "Our store is at the heart of the local community and it is important that we can do as much as we can to support it.

"When we heard about Redditch Rugby Football Club’s junior section needing support, we were really pleased to be able to help out."

Last year alone the Community Budget scheme provided £135,000 worth of donations, nominated by depot and store managers and colleagues from stores nationwide.
