REDDITCH MP Karen Lumley visited Redditch Community Amateur Boxing Club to see the work it does in the community.

During her visit Mrs Lumley also presented the group with a small donation from the excess proceeds of her recent parliamentary tours. Due to the huge demand from constituents each tour has made a surplus and the groups all kindly agreed the MP could allocate these funds to local charities and community groups.

Mrs Lumley said: β€œIt was great to get the chance to visit Redditch Community Amateur Boxing Club and to be able to present them with a donation from my constituents.

"I have been overwhelmed by the demand for my parliamentary tours, each one has been a sell-out and our waiting list is growing every week. The fact we are able to use excess funds to benefit local community groups is fantastic.

"The boxing club does a great job in the local community. Since it received Sport England funding it has truly gone from strength to strength.

"The club not only trains boxing stars of the future but also promotes health and well-being throughout the community, producing positive influences and role models to the young people of our town.”
