FOLLOWING the great success of its pop-up gallery in May this year, the Arts in Redditch Network is staging another event in November, featuring even more local artists, and an entirely new selection of work.

From Thursday, November 20 until Sunday, November 30, the Arts in Redditch Network, with the full co-operation and support of the centre management, will be taking over an empty shop unit in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, to host an exhibition of work by local artists and crafts people.

This exhibition will showcase the artistic talent at work in our community, and hopefully encourage others to get involved. Most of the work will be available to purchase.

Work will include painting, drawing, sculpture, jewellery and photography, and since our May event, an additional 15 artists have got involved, bringing the total to 40.

During the week, some of the exhibitors will be demonstrating their work to highlight ways in which other budding artists can engage in art for pleasure.

Such has been the success of this initiative that the promoters are unable to accommodate any more exhibitors this time, but welcome enquiries from interested parties who would like to participate in future events.

The gallery will be situated in Park Walk, opposite Waterstones, and admission is free.

The Arts in Redditch Network is an entirely voluntary initiative, created from a merger of the Redditch Arts Centre campaign, and the original AIR partnership.

Its long term aim is to secure the development of an arts centre in the town, and in the meantime, to promote participation in arts and cultural activity across all communities.
