RESIDENTS can once again watch in awe at the whiz, sparkle and pop of Redditch’s seasonal firework spectacular.

Starting with all the fun of the fair from 6pm there will be roadshow entertainment from 6.30pm and the huge firework display at 7.30pm in Arrow Valley Country Park on Wednesday, November 5.

Admission to the firework spectacular is free and there will also be food concession stands and Wilson’s Fun Fair.

Denim rock and roll band and Stuart Woolfenden, a well known local singer, will be on hand to provide some musical entertainment for crowds on the night.

Council leader Councillor Bill Hartnett, said: "The clocks have just gone back and the evenings are getting darker giving us the perfect backdrop to light up the night sky.

"As always the event is free, fun and family friendly so grab your gloves, an umbrella and some wellies and join in the fun whatever the weather.”

And just like last year there will also be disabled parking at the Battens Drive entrance and a free park and ride service so partygoers don’t even need to worry about where to leave their cars.

The park and ride operated by Diamond will run from Moons Moat Drive near the event parking on Merse Road from 5.45pm. A bus will then depart every 15 minutes until the last pick up in time for the fireworks display which departs at 7pm.

Return trips start at 8.15pm and run every 15 minutes until the last bus at 9.15pm.

A small section of road on Battens Drive will be closed in both directions for a distance of approximately 311metres from its junction with Hopyard Lane to its junction with Padgets Lane between 6pm and 9pm.

Pet owners across the borough are also being given the annual reminder to be responsible and keep pets indoors on bonfire night.
