A CARETAKER from a Redditch school has raised hundreds of pounds for two good causes by taking parting in the BUPA Great Birmingham Run.
Paul Dainty, who is caretaker at St Bede's School, as well as an army reservist, ran the race on October 19 to raise money for both the Primrose Hospice and The Royal Artillery Charitable Fund.
The Royal Artillery Charitable Fund assists all Royal Artillery officers, soldiers and their dependants, both serving and retired, in their time of need - whatever the cause and at any time in their live.
And the Primrose Hospice provides care and support to adults living with life threatening illnesses in Redditch, Bromsgrove and surrounding areas. It offers specialist palliative care in its day hospice as well as a range of other services including Primrose at Home, family support and complementary therapies.
At the last count Mr Dainty, who at the last count had raised £800, said: "It was a fantastic day, the crowds were amazing and spurred everyone on."
