THE Kingfisher Shopping Centre is hosting a Halloween 'spooktacular' event this half term with a host of ghoulish activities taking place on October 31 to keep all the family entertained, including spooky storytelling with Free Radio’s Chiara.

Chiara will be swapping the travel report for spooky stories and reading to children in a special scary corner of The Hub between 11am-2pm. Children are also invited to come along in their best Halloween fancy dress costumes to help add to the fun.

Adults can also get involved in the scary fun with the Trick or Treat Wheel that they can spin to win some great prizes from retailers in the centre, however they do need to beware of the booby prizes as there are tricks and treats. This will be located in the centre and take place between 12pm and 4pm.

There will also be face painting, balloon modelling and Mucky Monkeys will be there with their special effects make-up giving people realistic looking cuts, gashes and gouges. There will also be an amazing witch on stilts spreading ghoulish fun around the centre and she will also be available to look into her crystal ball for a family friendly look into the future. There will be tasty treats available all day with Greggs providing Halloween goodies and Yankee Candy Cave giving out samples of sweets and milkshakes.

Kingfisher spokesman Katie Broome said: "We’re delighted to have Chiara reading stories to the children as part of our Halloween event. She’s very well known as the travel reporter on Free Radio so this will be very popular. Add to that the Trick or Treat Wheel and other activities and the centre will definitely be spooktacular on the day."

With many activities taking place in the newly launched Hub visitors can make it a real family day out with a meal from Nando’s or Real China. If they’re feeling brave enough adults could also visit the cinema to watch the Alien double bill.
