THE Court of Appeal has ruled that a nuisance 999 caller from Redditch who was locked up indefinitely under hospital order should be released once his medical team decides he is safely able to return to the community.

Guy Francis Turner, of Greenfields, was made the subject of a hospital order after making numerous nuisance calls to police.

he made calls about having a brain tumour, threatened to kill himself in one, and in another call he recited poetry to operator in a call which lasted over half an hour.

Turner was sentenced at Worcester Crown Court in April after he admitted breaching an Asbo, and is currently a mental hospital.
