Five Ways OE 7, Redditch 31
REDDITCH recorded their first victory in Midlands Four West (South) after a four-try burst in the first half.
Despite a scrappy second period, the victory and bonus point was gratefully received following their narrow defeat to Evesham last week.
A fine debut display from Ben Stanyard capped a good Redditch performance and they opened the scoring through Jack Duffy.
Glen Francis and Tom Hodge scored similar tries as they picked and burrowed over the line from close range following spells of good possession and rucking.
A mazy run from Oliver Stokes saw Duffy grab his second touch down.
Five Ways battled back in the second half and pulled a score back, but Josh Holt sealed the win with a fifth try.
Redditch will have a tough challenge against early pace-setters Kings Norton at home on Saturday (3pm ko) and will be looking for a full 80-minute performance.
