A REDDITCH gym will be supporting National Fitness Day by giving non-members the chance to use the facilities on Friday, September 26.

Hundreds of clubs, parks and leisure centres, including PureGym Redditch, will be getting involved in a bid to get the nation moving for free.

The gym, at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, will be offering free day passes for all those who are looking to lead a healthier lifestyle and experience first-hand what the club has to offer. All equipment and classes, including spinning and legs, and bums and tums, will be free to access for the whole day.

The initiative is being run by not-for-profit health body UKactive which is taking on the task of raising awareness of the importance and benefits of physical activity. The ultimate goal is to kick-start the journey to regular exercise for thousands of people across the country.

Richard Annetts, national project manager at PureGym, said: “National Fitness Day is a great initiative that PureGym is proud to be a part of. We are becoming more sedentary as a nation so anything that we can do to encourage people to get active and educate them on the benefits is worthwhile.”
