AN innovative photographer, whose work was first publicised in a Worcester News article in July, is to have his pictures displayed in Malvern as part of a "technological world firsts" exhibition.

Peter Jenner specialises in infra-red photography and the newspaper feature was spotted by Tim Onions, who is organising an event called The Wonders of the Electromagnetic Spectrum in Malvern Library on Saturday, September 27.

"When I saw Peter's hauntingly beautiful pictures in the Worcester News that Saturday afternoon and read about the special techniques he uses to produce them I knew instantly that we had to have them on display at our event," said Mr Onions. "Since then I have been privileged to see many more examples of this unique art form, which are now on display for the first time. Peter has been very supportive of the Wonders of the Electromagnetic spectrum event and has taken a number of new pictures of Malvern and the surrounding area especially for the exhibition. He will be on hand on the 27th to describe and explain his technique."

Mr Jenner, who was born in Canada but has lived in Worcestershire since the late 1960s, started taking photographs with a second hand camera bought with money his mother left him when she died in 1998.

"I became fascinated with infra-red monochrome," he explained. "I loved the detail you could get and there weren't many people doing it."

Since then he has built up a library of more than 600 images, but this is the first time any have been on public view. "I'm thrilled to bits," he added.

The display will be the culmination of a month-long exhibition in Malvern Library, which highlights "Malvern's technological world firsts". Mr Onions said: "We have world experts giving lively interactive talks, hands on workshops where people can try different experiments and make things to take away, a QR code trail, and displays and stands. Peter's work will fit in perfectly."
