RMT Motorcycle Training and Riders Club in Redditch is again getting ready to raise money for a charity and has decided this year to support Prostate Cancer.

RMT is organising the yearly motorcycle charity ride for this Sunday, September 21.

It is inviting all riders from the area to join in on the day, even learners with L-plates are welcome, as the challenge will not be going on the motorway. The event will start from the RMT Motorcycle Training offices at the Rubicon Centre, Lakeside B98 8YP with registration from 9.30am.

The group will depart at 10am and travel to the Cotswolds, stopping for a break at Morton-In- Marsh, before heading back to The Washford Mill pub, Redditch, for a chat and refreshments afterwards. The total mileage will be less than 100 miles, so please arrive with a full tank of fuel.

Each bike will be asked to contribute £10 on the day and the money raised will go to the chosen charity.

The cancer charity is close to the hearts of all the staff of RMT Motorcycle Training, who lost a good friend and an avid biker to the illness, and this is the sixth year RMT has organised this ride out in his honour.

Simon Hayes, the club owner, said: “These events are about giving something back to organisations and individuals that do fantastic things for people in need and work tirelessly to help us and our families all year round. Where would we be without them?”

“It is also a great opportunity to get a group of like-minded people together who show their support every year. We see friends old and new and enjoy their company along the way. So we would love to see as many people as possible joining us, we are aiming for about 100 bikes, which will help reach a grand total of over £1,000.”
