A CHEESE and pickle festival will take place at Coughton Court over the weekend.

The annual event taking place at the National Trust property will include food from local producers, cookery demonstrations, music, crafts and performances.

More than thirty producers showcasing cheese, pickle and chutney stalls will be in attendance and Abbey Cheese from the Vale of Evesham will also be available.

A series of talented musicians and dancers will provide entertainment and these will include, Avoncroft Folk Dance Group, Malvern Hills District Brass Band and the Ian Cockerill Jazz Trio, an Alvechurch female morris side and from Bromsgrove and Redditch a morris side called Nancy Butterfly.

A range of country craft displays will be on show including, local wood turner Oli Madams and rag rug expert Jessie Lyndon.

Children will be able to have their face painted or take a free outdoor trail from the Welcome Centre through the grounds to find cheeses lost by the festival’s mascot, Pickle the Mouse.

Old fashioned confectionary will be available from Mr Chill’s Traditional Sweet Emporium and Chocolate Perfection will have a range of hand-crafted chocolates to try.

The restaurant will be serving its autumn menu throughout the event with a selection of soups and cakes.

Traditional dances will be performed on the lawn in front of the house.

The Coach House Shop will launch its unique tea blend, created especially for Coughton Court by a Warwick-based tea supplier.
