HAIRDRESSER Regis Salon is supporting Stand Up To Cancer, a joint fundraising campaign from Cancer Research UK and Channel 4 which aims to get new and improved treatments to cancer patients faster.

By supporting Stand Up To Cancer, Regis Hairstylists at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre will be uniting with doctors, nurses, scientists and celebrities to generate funds, raise awareness and bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.

Stand Up To Cancer is launching now and will build over the next few months culminating in a live TV fundraiser on Channel 4 on Friday, October 17, hosted by Davina McCall, Alan Carr and Dr Christian Jessen.

From September, the team at Regis Redditch will be raising money with their own creative events and fundraising initiatives. The salon will also be collecting extra charity funds through credit and debit card donations, where customers can choose to donate when paying for their hair and beauty treatments.

Their fundraising will culminate with a week of activity in October, ahead of the TV show on Channel 4, kicking off with the stylists joining the March On Cancer event which takes place on Saturday, October 11.

Regis Salon will then be offering two exclusive Stand Up To Cancer hairstyles from Monday to Friday, October 13 to 17, with 50 per cent of the price being donated to the campaign.

Joanne Read, salon manager at Regis Hairstylists, said: “We are thrilled to be involved in such a great campaign for a very worthy cause. Our stylists are already dreaming up creative ideas for fundraising and we hope that Redditch residents and our loyal customers will help us raise lots of money for the campaign.”

Caro Evans, head of fundraising for Stand Up To Cancer, said: “We are very grateful to Regis and all their staff for supporting Stand Up To Cancer. We hope people everywhere will follow their lead and start raising money to support life-saving research."

Stand Up To Cancer took place for the first time in the UK in 2012 and raised £8 million.
