THE government has handed out £200,000 to help improve the care given to people with diabetes in the Midlands.

The grant from the Health and Social Care Volunteering Fund has been given to Diabetes UK and the Centre for Patient Leadership and will be shared out between six of the 29 Clinical Commissioning Groups in the Midlands.

A Diabetes UK spokesman said the organisation was unable to announce which CCGs will receive a share of the cash.
