KAREN Lumley MP has congratulated pupils, teachers and parents on a fantastic set of GCSE results in Redditch.
Mrs Lumley said: "Thursday was a fantastic day for Redditch and shows what a bright future our young people have ahead of them. It is also a reminder of how far we have come. It is amazing to think that just five years ago our town’s educational attainment was deemed to be unsatisfactory with the borough falling way behind the rest of the county.
"I congratulate all pupils on the results today. I’m sure they have achieved the grades their hard work deserves. I’d also like to thank teachers and parents for their hard work and support."
She added: "Pupils and parents can feel increasingly confident that the exam system is now working in their favour – that the GCSEs and subjects they are taking are those most valued by colleges, employers and universities, and will help young people to succeed in modern Britain."
