ALCESTER is hosting its second annual Ale and Cider Trail.

The event will be taking place over three days from Saturday, August 23 to Bank Holiday Monday, August 25.

Eight pubs will be taking part; The White Lion, The Lord Nelson, The Royal Oak, The Bear, The Turks Head, Hollybush, The Cross Keys and The Dog and Partridge.

They will offer a range of entertainment with music and live sports.

While on the trail visitors will be also be able to enter a competition to win their height in beer.

The trail will begin when the clock on High Street strikes noon.

The event has been organised by the pubs themselves with some help from Alcester Chamber of Trade & Commerce.

Alcester Court Leet will be conducting the ancient ceremony of Ale Tasting at all eight pubs during the festival this weekend.
