HUNDREDS of guests visited Ragley Hall and took part in an event to commemorate those who lost their lives in the First World War.
To mark the centenary, a new exhibition called 'Letters from the Trenches' was revealed.
The display recreated life in the war with visitors being enlisted from the recruitment office to then be taken on to the trench where the sound of bullets and explosions could be heard.
Whilst in the trench the new troops could navigate their way past a replica machine gun to ‘Armistice Café’ which marked the end of the First World War, once here they could have a photograph and enjoy a lunch or cream tea with the background of wartime music.
Whilst at the ‘HQ Briefing Bunker’ visitors could view a collection of personal letters written from the trenches by the grandfather of the current Marquess of Hertford, Lieutenant Colonel Lord Henry Seymour, who was the Commanding Officer 2nd Battalion the Grenadier Guards alongside footage from the Great War.
The event, on Sunday August, 3 had themed fun fair stalls, games, entertainment and music.
