ALCESTER Girl Guides are appealing for two new adult leaders to help support their group.

From September, the units could be facing closure as both adult leaders will be unable to continue their roles.

The position would include, running weekly meetings, keeping records up to date, admin and giving guidance to the Guides.

Jenny Holmes, District Commissioner for Girlguiding in Alcester, said: “I know that running a Guide Unit maybe bottom of your to do list or not on it at all but this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.

“Volunteering looks great on a CV and there are lots of prospects for learning new skills, adventure and travel”.

“I have had offers of help from some of the parents but they do not want to take on the official role of Leader.

“All this can be flexible but without leaders nothing will happen and unfortunately the units may have to be suspended.

If you think you may be able to help in any way please get in touch.”

Both units have around 20 girls aged 10 to 14.

The volunteering position is open to females aged 18 to 65.

The organisation has around 100,000 adult volunteers and supporters.
