KINGFISHER Shopping Centre and The Entertainer toy store are offering the children of Redditch and the surrounding area a chance to perfect the art of loom banding at special workshops being held each Tuesday in August.
The popular loom band activity, which has shot from obscurity to become one of the UK’s most popular child’s toys involves children crafting bracelets using a range of techniques to create different bracelet designs from coloured plastic bands. Advanced loom banders can even make models, dresses and footwear.
The workshops are being held by The Entertainer, the centre’s popular toy shop, and expert loom banding staff from the store will be helping children create their designs, showing them techniques and sharing tips.
Katie Broome, marketing manager at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, said: “We’re seeing loom bands on so many children that come through the centre, we thought it would be a great idea to combine such a popular toy with something to interest children over the summer holiday.
"Staff at The Entertainer are absolutely brilliant at crafting amazing loom band designs and models so we decided to partner with them to offer these workshops each Tuesday of the summer holidays.”
The workshops will be held from 11am – 3pm each Tuesday in August. They run in the centre’s Worcester Square on a drop-in basis.
