A FOOT slog along the entire length of Hadrian's Wall - and then some - has raised £367 for Malvern Help for Heroes.
The endurance feat was undertaken by Nick Wilkes, the resident bard at the Malvern Theatres, along with friends Paul Ralph and Adrian Ross-Jones, partly as research for the new play Adrian's Wall, which will premier in mid-September.
Mr Wilkes said: "Although we walked the entire length of Hadrian's Wall, we were determined to impress, so we tagged on an extra bit at the beginning, starting from Tynemouth. This meant we tabbed from coast to coast, a foot-blistering 93 miles."
The trio handed over their cheque outside Malvern Theatres to Malvern Help for Heroes co-ordinator, Tim Kidwell. They are coming together again for the Help for Heroes Malvern Hills Challenge (information at 4h4h.org.uk) an end to end Hills walk on Saturday, September 13, just in time to launch Adrian's Wall the following week.
