A REDDITCH-based band have released their debut single.

Punk rock band Guerrilla Monsoon recently released a split 7in single with New York band Gameday Regulars.

Out via Paper + Plastick (Vinnie from Less Than Jake's record label) and Birmingham label All In Vinyl, it contains four tracks.

In support of the release, the band, formed in December 2013 from the ashes of a number of hard-working bands (Shermer, Hopewood and local favourites Sunset Cinema Club), will join their American friends for a joint tour together in the USA/Europe in 2015.

In the meantime, the band will be touring extensively including a date the Morton Stanley Festival on Saturday, August 16 .

Guerrilla Monsoon, who will be releasing an EP in October, have also been confirmed to play Fest 13 in Gainesville Florida at the end of October.

Speaking about Fest 13 John Maycroft, drummer, said: "We're stoked to be on the same line up as such great bands as The Descendents, The Flatliners and Less Than Jake."
