PEOPLE from various Redditch organisations, groups and communities gathered to celebrate 40 years of the Kingfisher Shopping Centre last week.
Entertainment to get people into the party spirit included Andy's Magic, a face painter and balloon modeller, live music from Totem, a tea dance from Gemini, a performance from New Salsa, and BJ's Busy Boots Line Dancing.
Centre manager Ken Williams said: "We had such a great time at the Kingfisher’s 40th birthday and would like to thank everyone who helped to make the event happen.
"Kingfisher has always prided itself as being at the heart of the community and we’re looking forward to continuing to be there for the next 40 years and more."
The celebrations also formed part of the town’s 50th anniversary, which commemorates the half-century since Redditch was reinvented as one of the country’s New Towns.
