THE biggest annual event in Redditch’s social calendar is nearly here and looks set to more popular than ever before.

Morton Stanley Festival will be back for 2014 on Saturday and Sunday, August 16 and17 with something for everyone.

There will be 16 hours of local talent and a wide array of entertainment at this year’s fun-filled, free and family-friendly festival.

Jonathan Cochrane, theatre and arts development manager for Redditch Council, said: “The popularity of Morton Stanley grows year on year with more and more people attending and getting involved.

"There is a fantastic line up of acts to suit a range of ages and tastes, whether you enjoy traditional rock bands or fun family activities. If you’re interested in having a stall at the festival there’s still time to get involved so contact our events team now."

This year’s main events are local bands the Layers on Saturday and the Destroyers on Sunday.

And as in previous years, the Saturday night is set aside for local bands to rock the stage in usual Morton Stanley fashion.

A wide range of stalls and activities will also take place across the whole weekend including an array of craft stalls. Community groups, craftspeople and businesses still have time to get involved by renting a stall.
