RESIDENTS in Winyates and Abbeydale will be getting two brand new bus shelters when the current ones are demolished.
Two shelters, one outside St Gregory’s Church in Winyates and one on Park Way, opposite Dolphin Road in Abbeydale, are expected to be demolished from Wednesday, July 30.
The current brick shelters will be replaced with stainless steel, stained glass, artwork shelters to make it more enjoyable for passengers using the shelters as well as decreasing the likelihood of vandalism and anti-social behaviour in these areas.
Matthew Mead, senior engineering technician for Redditch Council, said: “The works will be undertaken in the period July 30 to August 29 and we apologise for any inconvenience caused to residents during this time.”
The upgrade of the shelters is part of a joint project between Choose How You Move and Redditch Council.
