MALVERN legal firm Wills and Legal Services Limited is offering people the opportunity to write a Will in exchange for a donation to St Richard’s Hospice.

The company in Worcester Road is taking part in the 2014 National Charity Wills Donation scheme and has chosen to donate to the Worcester based hospice.

Until the end of March next year, specialist paralegals will write simple Wills free of charge to the general public in exchange for a donation to St Richard’s. So far 22 customers have taken advantage of the scheme and raised nearly £2,000, with donations ranging between £20 and £150.

Hannah Evans, marketing assistant at Wills and Legal Services Limited, said: “We are keen to get involved in the local community and are pleased to be able to take part in this scheme which has a double benefit of helping people who may not otherwise feel that they can afford to have a Will drawn up and supporting a local charity. We will be running the scheme until the end of March 2015, and would encourage anyone thinking of writing a Will to get in touch.

"It is important that everyone writes a Will so that they can say what they would like to happen in the event of their death, for example who should inherit their property, money and other possessions. In particular, this is important if partners are unmarried or have not registered a civil partnership, or to make arrangements for children in the event of one or more parent dying.”
