ALCESTER Male Voice Choir surprised their choir leader through a serenade on the M50 motorway.

Founder and Musical Director, Judith Land was driving from her home in Redditch to Swansea to meet the singers who were taking part in a rehearsal for an engagement at the Royal Albert Hall next October.

The choir leader said: “I had decided it was time for a coffee break and as I pulled in I noticed out of the corner of my eye a group of men who looked vaguely familiar, and there they were.

“Four of them from the choir running through some of the songs that they were due to sing later in the day, much to my surprise and astonishment and the astonishment of other motorists.

“It seems they had spotted me several miles back and thought they would play a prank on me or was it to impress me with their dedication”

The group, Tim Abbott, Matt Speirs, Peter Tullett and Simon Lowe all from Studley decided to practice at entrance to the services near Ross on Wye whilst taking a break on their way to Swansea.
