WORK by budding local artists will be going on display at an art exhibition being held in Alvechurch Village Hall from Thursday, July 24 until Saturday, July 26.

About 100 previously unexhibited paintings will be on display in a variety of mediums including oils, acrylics, watercolours, pastels and crayons and will have been produced by members of two art classes, run by Droitwich-based art teacher, Pam McGregor, that meet in the village hall every Thursday.

In addition, art from another of Pam’s groups that meet in Droitwich will be on display and there will be a special section on the theme of “Countries of the World” created by members of the groups especially for the exhibition.

This is the third exhibition by these groups and is becoming an annual event in July. Many of the artists will be present to discuss their work and there are also plans to have some crafts on show on the Saturday.

A spokesman said: " So what's with the 'Open Art Surgery'? Well, Pam feels sure there are budding amateur artists in the area who would value some advice or perhaps want to know how to improve a picture they are working on.

"So she is inviting anyone to bring in a piece of work, anytime on the Saturday - no need to make an appointment - and get a confidential and helpful opinion and advice from Pam – and all for free."

The exhibition will be open from 10am until 6pm on Thursday and Friday and from 10am until 5pm on Saturday and there is no charge for entry. Refreshments will also be available.
