CCTV in the Stratford district has received the British Standard Accreditation for a seventh year.

Accreditation under British Standard 7958, which recognises good management and practice, follows a comprehensive assessment based on 120 separate criteria.

There are 88 cameras in the district, installed at strategically positioned locations in Shipston, Bidford-on-Avon, Stratford, Alcester, Southam, Wellesbourne and Studley recording real time footage 24 hours a day, seven days a week, which is then fed via optical fibre cabling back to the monitoring centre in Stratford.

All cameras are now operated in partnership with local towns and parishes.

Councillor Gillian Roache, Community Safety, Health and Well Being Portfolio, said: β€œIt is vital that we can reassure our local communities that the CCTV in the District is accountable and professionally run. "Gaining this accreditation shows what an excellent CCTV operation we have in the District. CCTV is a valuable community safety resource that provides peace of mind and reassurance and together with partners we are able to maintain this highly acclaimed service for residents, businesses and visitors alike.”
