A REDDITCH man has been ordered to undergo drug rehabilitation treatment after breaching his Criminal Anti-Social Behaviour Order (CRASBO) just eight days after it was granted.

Samuel Crawley admitted breaching his CRASBO by being in the Kingfisher shopping centre on January 17.

At Redditch magistrates court on Wednesday, June 25, the 27-year-old of Berkswell Close was ordered to pay £85 costs and given a community order, requiring him to undergo drug rehabilitation treatment for six months.

Failure to comply will result in the case being referred back to court.

The CRASBO had been granted by Kidderminster magistrates on January 9, after the court was told of persistent shoplifting, drug taking and anti-social behaviour.

It lasts for five years and bans Crawley from entering the Abbey or Trafford retail parks, along with the Kingfisher Shopping centre. He is allowed to use Redditch bus station as long as he does not enter or leave the station via the shopping centre.

It also bans him using, either by injecting, inhaling, smoking or consuming, any illegal drugs in any public place.

PC Richard Field from Abbey Safer Neighbourhood Team said “Samuel Crawley breached his CRASBO while under the influence of drugs in the busy Kingfisher Centre which is he excluded from entering.

“Crawley has been given a strong message by the court and another breach of CRASBO is most likely going to result in a custodial sentence.

“The Safer Neighbourhood Team will robustly enforce any breach of this CRASBO in an attempt to protect the public from the distress that he causes.”
