AS part of The Redditch Orchestra's Summer Concert a local musician will be making a triumphant return.

The concert, at St. Stephen’s Church, will be a homecoming show for highly sought after musician Rebecca Eldridge as she performs a concerto.

Rebecca began learning the bassoon at the age of 12 and in 2007 made her debut with the Warwickshire County Youth Orchestra as soloist in Elgar’s Romance.

In 2008 she won a prestigious scholarship to study at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

Rebecca, who graduated with First Class Honours in her BMus Degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in July 2012, is currently completing postgraduate studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

As a soloist she has performed Weber’s Bassoon Concerto with the St Woolos Cathedral Players and with St Bartholomew’s Orchestra in London and Francaix’s Divertissement for bassoon and string quartet.

She is a keen chamber musician and is bassoonist with the Aquilon Ensemble and the Hafren wind quintet as well as being highly sought after by other chamber ensembles.

For the concert she will be joined by guest conductor Alexander Webb, a recent graduate of the Birmingham Conservatoire where he studied percussion and conducting.

The show is on this Saturday, July 5 starting at 7.30pmat St. Stephen’s Church.
