FOUR men are in custody in Warwickshire after a pub burglary in Bidford on Avon.

The men were arrested as part of a quick time investigation by Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police following the burglary in the early hours of Friday morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 4am on the morning of Friday, June 20 when police received a report that, following a disturbance, four masked me were seen in the car park of the Golden Cross pub in Bidford.

The men were seen leaving the scene with a safe in a stolen black BMW.

The car was recorded on CCTV cameras in Studley, and officers followed it, successfully employing a stinger to stop the vehicle on the A435 near Portway, just before the M42.

The four men were arrested on suspicion of burglary, and remain in police custody. Two of the men are 23, while the other two are 19 and 22.

A quantity of money, and two air rifles were recovered from the vehicle, but the safe, which is described as muddy green and measuring 2x2x3ft is yet to be found.
