Man charged with murdering his wife in Malvern

First published in News

A man from Malvern has appeared at court today charged with murdering his wife at their home in January.

On January 21, police were called to a house in Eston Avenue, Malvern, and found Monica O’Neill, aged 74, dead at the scene.

A post mortem examination found she had injuries caused by blunt trauma.

Her husband, Francis O’Neill, aged 78, was arrested at the scene, but later released without charge.

An investigation into her death has continued and today Mr O’Neill was charged with her murder.

He appeared at Worcester Magistrates’ Court this afternoon and, under Section 35 of the Mental Health Act, he has been remanded into the care of a hospital until he appears at Worcester Crown Court on July 19.

The above case may be a mental health issue. In the case of Andrew Heath, nobody can take the law into their own hands and be 'judge and jury' as other writers have already said. People with your attitudes are no better than the people found guilty of covering up this crime. Do you realise these are evil attitudes, and an eye for an eye is not the answer in a civilised county like Worcester. Yes we are not in China. See a shrink instead.
