AFTER 39 years of running its annual pub pedal to raise money for charity, members of the Alcester and Stratford District Round Table have organised their 40th event this year with a bit of a twist.

Usually members of the round Table flock from all over the Midlands to cycling between pubs in and around Alcester completing various challanges, but with their year’s punt pedal, the participants are taking part in punting races and challenges along the River Avon, as werll as a game of tage rugby at Stratford RFC and various challenges in Stratford town centre.

Event organiser Nathan Rosewell, said: “The pub pedal is firmly established on the regional Round Table calendar but for the 40th year we thought we’d make it a bit different – and extend the invite to members from outside our immediate region.

“Regional events such as this one foster fellowship between Tablers from different towns and areas, complementing our own local events and the community and charity work we are involved in.”

Round Table members will be coming from as far afield as Staffordshire Worcestershire and the West Midlands to compete in the various challenges from 7pm on Wednesday, June 25, and spectators are welcomed.
