POLICE in Alcester are appealing for information after an attempted robbery took place at Alcester Rugby Club over the weekend.
Four men wearing balaclavas entered the club on the Birmingham Road at approximately 7.15pm on Sunday, June 15 and threatened a member of staff, demanding to be given the club’s takings.
The member of staff indicated that he did not have access to any money, and the four offenders left the building empty-handed.
No weapons were seen during the incident, and no-one was injured.
The men, who are described as being of large build, ran from the building toward the main road, where police believe they may have had a vehicle waiting, although none was seen.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who saw a group of four men in the area behaving suspiciously, or anyone who has any further information which might be able to help them with their inquiries.
Anyone with information should contact Warwickshire Police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting incident number 309 of June 15, or alternatively they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, or at crimestoppers-uk.org.
