MORE than 100 older Redditch residents turned out to enjoy themselves at a seaside themed party recently.

Organised by Redditch Council’s home support service, the party at Studley Road Social Club included entertainment from male vocalist Paul James, dancing, a knobbly knees competition, peep board photographs, raffle and D-Day commemoration.

Partygoers also enjoyed fish and chips for lunch from Merchants Fish Bar, ice creams from Tina’s Ice-Cream Van and afternoon tea.

Sue James, home support supervisor, said: “The staff who put on the party had nearly as much fun as the residents.

"The whole team is proud to have been involved in such a great event but our biggest thanks have to go to the residents that attended for making it such a fantastic day.

"We couldn’t have asked for better feedback, especially as the team work very hard to put on a fun and comprehensive programme of activities.”
