A 29-year-old man is to stand trial after he pleaded not guilty to the murder of a Redditch woman.
Akeel Hussain, of Pembroke Croft in Birmingham, denied murdering Kirsty Wright on March 16 this year when he appeared for a plea hearing at Worcester Crown Court.
Kirsty Wright – who was 21 – was rushed to hospital on Saturday afternoon, March 15 with serious stab wounds.
Sadly, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, she died in hospital.
At the time Detective Inspector Jon Roberts said: “I’d like to take this opportunity to reassure local people that this appears to be a self-contained incident and that there is no reason for concern within the wider community.
A five-day trial has been set for Wednesday, September 24. Hussein was remanded in custody.
