TWO Redditch men have raised more than £1,500 for charity.

Following the death of their friend Simon 'Bob' Willis who died of cancer, aged just 42, Gary Leaver and Paul Paintin decided to do something a bit different in honour of their friend and to raise cash for Cancer Research UK

The pair challenged themselves to allow their facial hair to grow unfettered and untrimmed for five months.

The hirsute pair had a grand shave-off last Saturday, June 14, which would have been Bob’s 44th birthday.

All the money the duo raised will go to Cancer Research UK which funds scientists, doctors and nurses to help beat cancer sooner.

The charity also provides cancer information to the public.
