RESIDENTS are invited to have their say on new artwork set to be installed near where they live – and be in with the chance of winning a prize.

As part of the RoadWay Arts project, Redditch Council is arranging for up to 10 new pieces of artwork to brighten up the town’s underpasses and bus shelters and encourage more residents to walk, cycle or travel by bus.

Residents are being asked to give their views on the artwork sites, come up with ideas for designs and suggest other improvements.

The locations targeted include underpasses at Beoley Road West (near Micky’s Chippy), Britannia Close (back of B&Q), Birmingham Road (near the Abbey Stadium) and Hemming’s Entry (by Car Park 7).

Those who are quick off the mark and complete the survey by June 29 will go into the prize draw to win a choice of tickets to see a performance at the Palace Theatre.

James Cooper, senior community safety project officer, said: “RoadWay Arts pieces have helped to cut cleaning and repair costs by reducing graffiti and vandalism.

“Now, thanks to funding from Choose How You Move we can extend this programme into even more areas of the borough and hopefully entice residents to walk to work or catch a bus to school so they can enjoy the new views.

“So please take part in this community project – it only takes 10 minutes to have your say.”
