THE national team won’t be England’s only chance to become world champions in Brazil this summer, as Redditch's very own Ty Walton will be representing England at the FIFA Interactive World Cup grand final.
21-year-old Ty, one of two English players to have qualified for the final, beat almost two million people to win a dream three-day trip laid on by FIFA.
He will be traveling to Rio de Janeiro and as well as taking on players from nations such as Brazil, Romania and Ireland, will get take in the Rio landmarks, meet football legends and watch one of the world cup quarter finals.
This year marks the 10th edition of the interactive cup, the world’s largest online gaming tournament, and is the first year the grand final is to be held in the same country and at the same time as the FIFA World Cup.
Ty, ranked 19th in the world, said: “I feel immensely proud that I’ll be representing my country in Brazil. I’ll be practicing as much as I can in the weeks leading up to the grand final and I hope I can do England proud."
