SUNDAY sees the annual Court Leet Street Market coming to Alcester and this year’s market will feature a wartime 1940s theme, with people invited to come along in fancy dress.

High Street will be closed from 10.30am to set up the market stalls, and there will be an official opening at 1.30pm with the high Bailiff Steven Brown, performer Kitten Von Mew and a Winston Churchill look-a-ilke.

The day will feature open air performances from The Alcester Victoria Silver Band, Alcester Male Voice Choir, Alcester Academy Rock Band, and several local groups including Kidnap Alice, Racketts and the Texan Peacocks.

There will be a fun run around the town at 11am, and a procession, including vehicles at 1.15pm from Bleachfield Street to St Nicholas Church.

High street should reopen to traffic from 6.30pm.
