A REDDITCH man who put lives in danger when he set fire to a house has been remanded in custody to await sentence.
David Hyett, aged 29, of Aldington Close, admitted causing arson being reckless as to whether property and lives would be put at risk at a terraced house in Dilwyn Close, Matchborough, Redditch, on Saturday, February 22 this year.
The charge alleges the lives of the householder and neighbours were put in danger. The neighbours were alerted by a loud bang and started to tackle the blaze themselves before the fire service arrived. The flames did not spread and there was mainly smoke damage inside the house.
A pre-sentence report was ordered and Hyett is due to return to Worcester Crown Court for sentencing in the week of June 30.
