BUDDING explorers can go on a new torch lit adventure in a special play day at Forge Mill Museum.

At ‘Little Explorers at the Museum’, a new trial programme for the under fives, children can venture into the museum equipped with a torch and magnifying glass to follow the play trail.

As well as the trail, Little Explorers also features fun themed sessions including a craft, songs and a story. It runs every Friday from 10.30am-3pm, from June 6 until July 11, with the themed sessions at 11.15am and 2pm.

Debbie Lakeman, learning and access officer at the museum said: “We are really excited at providing this new opportunity for our youngest visitors to engage with the museum.

“Children and carers will enjoy exploring the buildings and the collection together, so why not come and pay us a visit?”

Little Explorers is supported by a grant from The Marches Network and Arts Council England, and the Abbey Meadows Coffee Bar is supporting the venture by opening over lunchtime on Fridays, to provide parents with a venue to purchase refreshments.
