Summer Style Saturday returns to the Kingfisher Centre
5:40pm Friday 30th May 2014 in News
WEST Midlands fashionistas are gearing up for the return of Kingfisher Shopping Centre’s Summer Style Saturday, which will be held this Saturday, May 31, from 10am until 4pm.
The event will feature makeovers, trend reports, catwalk shows and a familiar face.
Now in its second year, Summer Style Saturday returns bigger and better before with brand names such as Yves St. Laurent, The Body Shop and Specsavers getting involved to bring the best of the SS14 season’s fashion to Redditch.
After making an appearance last year, TOWIE’s Lydia Bright will be returning with her pop-up fashion line Bella Sorella. The star of the famous television show will be imparting style tips for the summer and offering the most beautiful dresses, tops and shorts available to buy.
Birmingham-based guest blogger Tereza from Cityscape Bliss will be taking part in the event’s Style Wars, which sees her going head-to-head with a member of the audience to find the most stylish outfit.
The ‘wars’ will take place at three different times throughout the day, with the winner of each challenge being able to keep their new outfit.
Summer Style Saturday also ties in with the centre’s recent #RedditchModel selfie competition, which asked wannabe models across the Redditch area to submit a selfie with the chance of winning a £100 in-store gift card and makeover. Two models have now been chosen from the local area to take part. The models will receive a makeover on the day and then get the chance to join in with the events fashion shows.
Ken Williams, general manager of the centre, said: “We’re really looking forward to Summer Style Saturday. We have a great programme for the event and think that it’ll prove very popular among the community.
“It’s going to be especially exciting to see people from Redditch taking part in the event; Kingfisher is proud to be at the heart of the community and we want that to reflect in the events that we hold.”
V.I.P goody bags will be available from the centre on the day. To register, visit facebook.com/shopkingfisher and click on the ‘Goody Bag’ tab in advance.
