THE importance of voluntary work is being highlighted during national Volunteers Week, from June 1-7.

Among those who are being praised during the week are the volunteers from Saltways, a Leonard Cheshire Disability home in Redditch, with nursing care for adults aged 18 to 65 with physical disabilities

A spokesman said: "Volunteers Week seems a good time to highlight the marvellous work of Saltways volunteers.

"Aged from 16 to their 60s, they really make a difference to residents’ quality of life by driving, running craft and games activities, reading, chatting, using computer skills, gardening and lots more."

Saltways is a Leonard Cheshire Disability home, with nursing care, for adults aged 18 to 65 with physical disabilities. Anyone interested in finding out more about joining the volunteer team can contact Kay at kay.restall@leonardcheshire.org or call 01527 452800.
