TWINKLE toed Alcester Academy students have excelled at this year’s European and World Irish Dancing Championships held in Düsseldorf.
Holly Mobbs and Georgia McConnell won the European Céilí Championships while Sarah Godwin, Becky Webb and Amelia Teehan won the World Championship Figure competitions in their age group, as well as the World Championship Show Dance.
They also performed exceptionally well in the solo competitions with Amelia Teehan ranked ninth in the world for her performance and Rebecca Webb and Sarah Godwin ranked eighth and ninth in Europe.
Headteacher Paul Hyde said: "We are extremely proud of these young women who bring determination and dedication both to their school studies as well as their love of Irish dancing. We congratulate them and wish them all the best for the future."
All the girls all train at the McCarthy-Felton School of Irish Dance.
