WORK has finished on a £30,000 extension at Alcester Nursery Studio that will give little learners a lot more space to stretch their legs.
In 2013, the nursery put in a successful bid to Warwickshire County Council for a capital improvement and enhancement grant with the aim of providing more space for two-year-olds eligible for the government’s 2Help Grant.
Nursery manager Debi French said: “This is a scheme which allows eligible children to receive free early education from the funding period after their second birthday.
“It is part of a national offer from the Department for Education and has been developed to improve outcomes for identified two-year-olds who would benefit from access to high quality early years and childcare provision. It also offers help to tackle challenging circumstances through family support.”
She added that thanks were owed to Warwickshire County Council, the team of workmen, and to the staff at Our Lady’s Catholic Primary, who gave permission for the extension onto school land.
