A MAN sustained serious leg injuries during an incident in Inkberrow yesterday.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Withybed Lane at approximately 3.25pm.
An ambulance, a community first responder and the West Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham were sent to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "Crews were called to a man who had become injured after an industrial strimmer had apparently exploded causing shrapnel from the machinery to penetrate through his leg.
"The man was treated for significant lower leg injuries at the scene.
Ambulance crews administered pain relief and the man's leg was splintered before he was conveyed by land ambulance tothe Alexandra Hospital in Redditch for further assessment and treatment. "
